I’ve kind of made it a personal pact not to listen to ephemeral rock “music” anymore. Any whiny, yearning, cry-baby, loser love songs in particular.

If I’m going to listen to any music, I’ve been telling my friends lately, it’s classical, jazz, industrial or death metal. Okay, it’s a little over the top, but hey, I’m apparently bipolar. Here’s the top ten bands I’m currently restricting myself to, other than the aforementioned genres:

1. Pigface.
2. KMFDM.
3. Killing Joke.
4. Legendary Pink Dots.
5. Revolting Cocks.
6. Skinny Puppy.
7. Tear Garden.
8. Whatever Tim sends me to listen to.
9. Slayer.
10. Slim Whitman.
